Product Details
The EIGR series consists of high-speed routers that link two 10/100/1000 Mbps Internet Protocol (IPv4) networks - passing appropriate traffic while blocking all other traffic. One network is the local-area-network (LAN); the other is the wide-area-network (WAN). The built-in stateful firewall passes communication initiated on the LAN-side while blocking WAN-side initiated communication. With Port Address Translation (PAT), LAN-side clients can access the Internet. Network Address Translation (NAT) allows a one-to-one translation between LAN-side and WAN-side devices. With Port Forwarding, LANside devices can be accessed from the Internet.
The EIGR-V/EIGR-C2/EIGR-VB incorporates a four-port Ethernet switch for multiple LAN-side connections.
The EIGR-V series includes real-time clock and OpenVPN client/server functionality. As a VPN Server, up to 15 router clients and 15 PC clients can be supported.
The EIGR-V/EIGR-C2 operates over 0 to 60°C temperature range and the EIGR-VX/EIGR-C2X operates over -40 to +75°C range.
The EIGR-VB is similar to EIGR-V and supports real-time clock and OpenVPN client server functionality. But as a VPN server, it supports bridge mode VPN where up to 10 VPN clients are bridged to the EIGR-VB router's LAN side, allowing the passing of multicast and broadcast messages over the VPN tunnel. The VPN interface for the clients is assigned an IP address corresponding to LAN subnet and provides the same application experience as if the client device were part of the LAN of the EIGR-VB. This facilitates easier secure remote access, especially for BACnet systems without the need to setup any BBMDs. The EIGR-VB operates over 0 to 60°C temperature range.
The EIGR-C2 router from firmware revision 2.0.0 can be configured as a cellular bridge VPN server for single-site remote access solution, where a wired connectivity is an issue. The BridgeVPN functionality was originally available on the EIGR-VB wired routers, but with this firmware update, remote sites can now be accessed over cellular.
