Product overview
EnOcean Wireless Valve Controllers (WVCs) are compact, smart devices that regulate water flow through wireless communication. The valve controller mounts directly onto solenoid valves via a DIN socket. The EnOcean models: WVC-ENO-230ET and WVC-ENO-230EB — can be paired via built-in buttons on the front of the WVC with indicator lights that show when the pairing is successful. The WVC is a key component of a wireless leak detection system that incorporates EnOcean technology and an EnOcean to BACnet gateway to connect wireless sensors, smart valve controllers, and building automation protocols to provide comprehensive protection against water damage.
Models WVC-ENO-230ET and WVC-ENO-230EB are electronic WVCs designed to operate a normally-closed 230V/240V solenoid valve (maximum coil rating 50VA) from a 230VAC/240VAC mains electrical supply.
Key Features:
• Power supply: 220V-240V RMS AC.
• Territory: Currently UK only. A mains plug is required for standards compliance.
• Power dissipation: 0.3W when idle or 0.4W when the valve coil is energised (does not include the power dissipation of the valve).
• Output connector: DIN 43650 “form A” valve socket.
• Switched output rating: 50 VA maximum inrush (25VA continuous) inductive load. Any 230V solenoid valve marked “50VA” or less may be used, provided the connector is compatible.
• Signalling method: EnOcean Radio Protocol.
• Signalling frequency: 868 MHz.
• Antenna: Internal.
• Range: Up to 200 m in open space, range through walls is reduced.
• Operating temperature range: -25° C to +50° C.
The product is supplied with a UK mains plug which must be plugged into a wall socket. The plug is required for regulatory reasons, however if it is desired to “hard-wire” the product without a mains plug, the mains plug may be cut off, and the cable wired into a fused spur, but in this case a two-pole isolating switch must be fitted in order to comply with regulations. The product is considered unsafe if wired into a fused spur without a two-pole isolating switch. The product must be earthed and protected by a 3 A or 5 A fuse.
The 230V WVC is available in two variants depending on the position of the earth pin in the DIN valve connector, they are 230ET and 230EB. If the WVC is held vertically with the cable hanging downwards, the version with the earth pin up-permost is 230ET (Earth Top), whereas the version with the earth pin in the lower position is 230EB (Earth Bottom).
