Contemporary Controls’ plug-and-play BAS Switch (EIBA) series delivers the reliability, functionality, and rugged design required for modern building automation systems (BASs). Available in both panel-mount and DIN-rail mounted configurations, these compact switches are specifically designed for installation in shallow-depth control cabinets where space is at a premium.
With rising metal costs, optimizing control cabinet space is an effective way to reduce project expenses. The low-profile EIBA switches help reduce project costs by enabling shallow-depth control cabinet designs that minimize enclosure size, reduce material usage, and maximize available panel space, without compromising network performance.
The EIBA switches feature five 10/100 Mbps shielded RJ-45 ports. Each port is Auto-MDIX compliant and can operate as an uplink port, eliminating the need for crossover cables. All ports automatically negotiate data rate, duplex, and flow control.
The low-voltage, half-wave rectified power supply allows the switch to share a 24 VAC/VDC power source with other control devices. LEDs for data rate and activity aid in troubleshooting.
A writable label allows technicians to list the location of field devices connected to each port. Each port LED glows solid when a link exists, flashes to indicate activity and displays data rate by color: green for 100 Mbps and yellow for 10 Mbps. One power LED is provided.
Unlike office-grade equipment, EIBA units are designed for commercial and industrial applications. With an operating temperature range of 0°C to +60°C and compliance with global industrial electromagnetic compatibility standards, these switches provide reliable performance in harsh environments. They are UL 508 Listed for Industrial Control Equipment.
EIBA switches work with any Ethernet application, such as BACnet/IP, BACnet/Ethernet, and Metasys.
